For Easter Weekend, I went to Lisbon from Thursday to Sunday morning to meet up with an old roommate from the US (Alex). In Switzerland, and much of Europe, both Friday and Monday are public holidays so this led for a nice extended weekend.
Lisbon is a very fun place with great food, lively people, and many pretty sites. On the first night, we grabbed a late dinner and then went out for a few drinks in Barrio Alto, which is a fun area of the city that has 250 bars in an 8 block area.
Saturday morning we hit the sightseeing hard with a morning tour of Belem, walking tour of the city center, and then a bar crawl with some of Alex's friends at night. One important fact to note is the Spanish and Portuguese live a bunch different lifestyle than the Swiss and Americans; for example, our tour guide took us to our last bar at 2:30a, we left early, so that we could get to bed by 5am given we had another tour planned the following day in Sintra that required us to get up at 7am. If going back, I would recommend another day to sleep and sightsee and possibly spending the night in Sintra or Caiscais as the area is gorgeous.

After flying back in Easter Sunday, I enjoyed Easter dinner at the Baleskys with our American visitors that were still in town from skiing the weekend before and the Lawrences (UK Manager that did a secondment in Detroit I knew). Great dinner with friends, followed by introducing friends to Settlers of Catan, and then missing the last train and being stranded so I had to stay in a packed apt. until the next morning.
All in all a great weekend!
